not late after all

Turns out Monday wasn't my 100% date after all. Either my acquisitions editor or I (probably both) padded the schedule, knowing I'm always a bit off with deliverables. That's pretty funny.

Did have a discussion with my fearless development editor, Damon, and we had to move the contents of Appendix C ("Using Blogger With Third-Party Hosting") into the book itself, so it's now a really long topic in Chapter 2 instead of an appendix at the end of the book.

So, the working TOC has been updated and instead of being 54.5% completed (6/11) I'm now just 50% compelted (5/10). That doesn't seem fair!

today is 100% delivery day

How much have I completed and delivered? 54.5%, which ain't 100%.

The working TOC is pretty stable at this point. I actually have written bunches in the non-delivered chapters, they're just not completely up to par yet.

Completed and sent: Chapters 1, 2, and 3; Appendices A, B, and C

New TOC, and Biz Stone doesn't think I suck!

I mentioned earlier that my acquisitions editor got the lovely and talented Biz Stone to review the TOC for this book. He came back with all positive comments and suggestions, many of which have been incorporated into the updated TOC.

I tightened up a few chapters, streamlined some others, and separated some potentially tangential information into its own appendix (information on publishing on a third-party server). The TOC now consists of eight solid chapters and three small appendices, and this makes me happy.

Now I just need to finish it; the 100% completion date is July 25th. Ack! Back to writing.
